repaired CQ40-340TU is now loaded with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Now that I got my CQ40-340 from HP service center, I loaded it up immediately with Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate. I downloaded the installer months ago from MS through my MSDN subscription.
The installation went fine. The amount of speed gained from using Vista Ultimate 32 bit is significant. But the rating is 3.4 (can't remember, it's weeks ago as of this writing).
I went to HP drivers website ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3887301 ) to download all the drivers needed. I installed each of them but found several issues:
1. can't locate hardware sp45216 - Nvidia GeForce G 105M103M Graphics Driver
2. sp45211 - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
3. sp45213 - Intel Chipset Installation Utility
4. sp45590 - Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family Graphics Driver 64-bit
5. file is corrupted sp46731 - HP Quick Launch Buttons (well, maybe problem is downloading)
6. sp45558 - ALPS Pointing Device Driver (2-Way) for 14-Inch Wide LCD
7. not compatible sp48591 - Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows 7
8. sp45671 - Intel PROWireless Drivers for Microsoft Windows 7
9. sp45215 - Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller
10. sp45212 - JMB38X Card Reader Host Controller Driver
11. not compatible sp47543 - WinFlash for HP Notebook System BIOS - Microsoft Windows-Base
12. with other hp dvd ver7 installed sp45648 - HP DVD Play Software
12. sp45825 - Cyberlink YouCam Software
14. sp45500 - TV Tuner Driver
15. not compatible sp48094 - Lightscribe System Software
16. sp45222 - HP Wireless Assistant
17. sp46561 - HP Advisor
18. not compatible sp48071 - HP Support Assistant
The biggest problem I have is that I can't modify my display settings. It's stucked at 1280 x 800.
